AFCEE WERC, Task Orders 20 and 28, Medical Clinics, Various Locations, Iraq |
|

Tetra Tech provided services to construct and equip 11 medical clinics located at seven geographically dispersed sites across Iraq. Tetra Tech effectively executed this project with 96% Iraqi participation, with an average workforce of 140 and a peak workforce of 220.
- Planned, designed, and constructed new buildings and associated site work. Each medical clinic is approximately 13,000 square feet, and are all located on Iraqi military installations. We used pre-engineered metal buildings (PEB) and masonry construction.
- Managed all construction services for this WERC TO required to renovate 11 medical facilities at seven locations throughout Iraq. Implemented constructability reviews, essential in achieving workable engineering plans.
- Managed the construction of over 521,000 SF worth of site area and nearly 130,000 SF of PEB. Within the clinics, we also constructed 55 exam rooms and installed 22 X-ray machines, 11 X-ray developers, 33 dental chairs/accessories, and 11 dental X-ray machines.
- Acknowledged by both AFCEE and AFCEE’s client as raising the bar for quality and safety performance in Iraq, earning a Green rating.
- Worked cooperatively with base officials to ensure site security and maintain our aggressive construction schedule.
Safety Highlight. Successfully implemented additional measures to enhance worker and work site safety, including site-specific H&S plans and training tiered to our program plan that included types of wounds and diseases not common to worksites stateside. We were commended by AFCEE for our onsite H&S training.
