Miami Seaport Redevelopment Program, Berth 19 Bulkhead Realignment, Florida

TtEC provided the architectural, engineering, marine engineering, program management, and construction administration services necessary to complete a $120 million capital redevelopment program for the Port of Miami, which helps to ensure the Port’s continued presence in the international cruise and cargo markets.

TtEC was involved in the bulkhead realignment of Berth 19, which has a water depth of approximately 35 feet. The scope of the project consisted of extending the existing berth face to the east a distance of 238 feet following the direction of the existing seawall and 167 feet to the north perpendicular to the seawall. The system is anchored, by tape coated tie rods, to a continuous AZ 13 sheet pile deadman, and located approximately 100 feet behind the main wall. A concrete fascia beam is cast above the main wall and fenders and bollards are anchored to it. Separate tie rods are used to resist loads on the bollards, which are also anchored to the continuous AZ 13 sheet pile deadman.
