| Evaluation of Dredging and Disposal –10-Year Planning, New York and New Jersey |
|
TtEC prepared an evaluation involving the collection of all available information on dredging projects, both planned dredging and maintenance dredging, anticipated in New York and New Jersey waters for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. A daily dredging rate was estimated for each project and all projects were scheduled over a 10-year period. The scheduling included a no-dredging period required for environmental protection.
Subsequent to schedule development, TtEC developed a program that visually and numerically compared dredging requirements to dredged material stabilization treatment and disposal capacity on a monthly basis. This program allows a user to modify individual project schedules and dredging rates and immediately see the results in terms of stabilization and disposal requirements, including comparing existing capabilities with total requirements. The program identified an urgent need for additional capacity in stabilizing and disposing of dredged materials. The information also supported facility planning to meet this need, including identifying the treatment capacity and facility implementation schedule required.
